First Stop: Welcome at the Christian Gate of the palace opposite the Aeneid´s quote Lion Plaque: Ad Utrumque.
Second Stop: The Lion Courtyard.
Third Stop: Parget/Plaster Courtyard and Justice Hall. Legend of Don Fabrique.
Fourth Stop: La Montería Courtyard and Façade. King Don Pedro´s Palace/Mudéjar Palace.
Fifth Stop: Casa de la Contratación-House of Trade or Palace of the Admiral.
1- The Admiral Hall.
2- Audience Hall. Virgin of the Sailors.
Sixth Stop: King Don Pedro´s Palace or Mudéjar Palace. We are in front of La Montería main façade again and we are heading into the Palace.
PUBLIC AREA OF THE MUDÉJAR PALACE OR OFFICIAL HALLS.
Seventh Stop: Patio de las Doncellas- the Maids Courtyard. Around there were placed the official halls of the palace.
Eighth Stop: Cuarto Real- Royal Bedroom. Located all through ONE of the yardcourt sides.
Ninth Stop: The Carlos V´s Ceiling Room, across the yard it was originally a chapel.
Tenth Stop: The Ambassadors´Room or the Throne Hall. The most characteristic hall in the palace. In here we see above on of the most iconic views in the Alcázar, the popularly known as the Half Orange Hall.
PRIVATE ROOMS/CHAMBERS OF THE PALACE.
We come along the Ambassadors Hall toward the Maids Courtyard and all throughout the Royal Bedroom we enter the Dolls Courtyard.
Eleventh Stop: Dolls Courtyard. All the Royal Rooms were placed by surrounding this Royal Sleeping Compartment.
Twelfth Stop: The Moorish Kings Bedroom.King Don Pedro´s Summer Royal Bedroom.The Prince´s Bedroom, as in here Don Juan, son of the Catholic Kings was born. We read on the baseboard, frieze: "TANTO MONTA".
Thirteenth Stop: Philip II Ceiling Room or The Half Cane Room, because of its long form. Another Highlight is The Peacocks Arch. Separating the Ambassadors´ Hall from the Peacocks Hall.
Fourteenth Stop: Gothic Palace. Chapel. Virgin of Antiquity. We are coming back to the Montería Courtyard. A XVIII c, corridor leads us toward the Courtyard of the Crossing or Doña Maria de Padilla´s that it was formerly an Almohad Courtyard built onto two levels. By crossing it we will reach the old Gothic Palace that the King Alfonso X, the Wise, ordered to be built. And again, it was refurbished in Charles V time, and finally, again redeveloped after the Big Lisbon Earthquake in 1755.
HOWEVER, THE EASIEST ACCESS THAT WE ARE USING ON THIS TOUR ITS BY WALKING UP THE STAIRS ON ONE OF THE CORNERS AT THE MAIDS COURTYARD WHICH IS LEADING DIRECTLY TO THE CHAPEL.
Fifteenth Stop: Carlos V Rooms, The Snail Rooms just name after the spiral staircase in this hall and that is called snail stairway in Spanish.
Sixteenth Stop: Tapestries Hall.
OUTDOORS VISIT.
Seventeenth Stop: The Alcázar Gardens.
1- Mercury Pond.
2- Gallery of the Grutesco.
3- Baths of Doña María de Padilla.
4- Huerta de la Alcoba´s Gazebo gardens.
5- The Lion Pavilion and Labyrinth made of myrtle walls.
Going back a little and crossing the wall through the Privilege Gate, we come out towards the New Gardens of the XX c.
6- Marchena´s Gate.
By crossing it we will reach the exit of the site. The Apeadero which is the other access of the Palace. For us, the exit of our tour and final stop at the Patio De Banderas.
7- Apeadero.
8- Patio De Banderas.
